Flora and fauna
Isolated from other land-masses, the Madeiran islands are botanically rich and diverse, and the rugged and beautiful landscape embraces a broad range of habitats. Madeira has one of the best preserved vegetation of Macaronesia. There are more than 150 endemic species (plants grown only on Madeira). So be prepared for the feast on lush greens, towering trees and exotic plants.
The waters of Madeira are a haven for marine mammals. The most famous is the monk seal, also known as wolffish. Dolphins of various species evolve here as much as 18 kinds of whales can be seen in these waters. There are many birds that breed on Madeira island. There are three native species: Madeira Firecrest, Zino's Petrel and the Trocaz Pigeon.

Social ecosystem
In a distance of 15 min drive from the accommodation, you will find a digital nomads hot spot - Ponta Do Sol, a digital nomads village.
The accommodation is located 5-minute drive from the nearest beach. Many restaurants, bars and shops can be found in the capital city Funchal, which is around 22-minute drive away. There are plenty of reasons to make the trip there, from the photo-friendly views to the Monte Palace Tropical Garden or the Church where Emperor Charles I is buried.
Madeira is becoming a very hot spot for digital nomads. Recently created Digital Nomad Village (with a partnership of Madeira's government) puts it on the spotlight as a destination definitely worth considering.
If you're a fan of the breathtaking views, consider visiting Cabo Girão Skywalk (17 min drive).
Another spot worth visiting is located in the middle of the island, between mountains. The Valley of the Nuns, Curral des Freiras, is quite isolated from the rest of the island, and back in the days it was almost inaccessible. That isolation wasn't accidental - it was a place for the islands’ nuns who sought refuge from the pirates, keeping the convents’ treasures safe.
